One shell, three different bases

Base choice in a meeting room follows the floor and the frequency of use, and several models here leave that decision open on a single shell. Neon can be ordered with a fixed, castored or U-shaped base; Fero offers the same three options and an armless version. Greta is a fixed shell that can take optional casters. Kt is built on a metal sled base and carries an optional writing tablet and basket accessory. Cloud uses a chrome base with fixed four legs, and Dawn chrome-plated U-shaped metal legs. Oxford puts a fabric-upholstered shell on a fixed base, with wooden armrest and row-end addition options that let the same chair move from a table layout into a row. Castored bases suit rooms whose layout changes often, while fixed and sled bases suit rooms that keep one arrangement.

Armless shells rescue a crowded table

How many people fit around a meeting table usually comes down to arm width. Models offering an armless option therefore serve a distinct purpose: Greta is built without arms, and Fero offers an optional armless version. On models with arms, check whether the arm clears the underside of the tabletop; Chicago comes with 2D adjustable polyurethane arms that adapt to worktop height. Clue is one of the narrowest shells in the category at 48 cm and reduces the width required per person in dense layouts.

Colour is where a meeting room differentiates

The meeting room is often where an office makes its colour decision. Several models answer that with a wide palette: Riva offers eleven fabric and leather colours together with three leg options, Niro is produced in a range of vivid colours with a breathable 3D mesh back, and Arven is offered in grey, pink, blue and black. Colour is not purely visual – light upholstery needs cleaning more often in heavily used rooms, while darker tones hide marks. On material, fabric dominates, with leather and faux leather chosen more often for meeting rooms on the executive floor.

When a meeting chair needs a mechanism

A share of the models here swivel and run on casters, designed for long management sessions and project rooms. Chicago uses a synchronous mechanism, Rimini and Moon a height-adjustable mechanism, and Como and Oslo an up-and-down movement. Cloud, Dawn, Clue and Cove, by contrast, are fixed shells that hold one arrangement around a table. The decision follows session length: for forty-five minute meetings a fixed shell is enough, while half-day sessions make height adjustment and tilt a visible difference. Fero stacks when not in use and frees the room for another layout. Kt is both stackable and folding on a metal sled base, and carries an optional writing tablet for note-taking when the room is used without tables, plus a basket accessory for bags and files. Neon can also be ordered with a writing tablet. How many different layouts a room takes in a week is what decides whether stacking and casters are worth specifying.
