Depth is what narrows or relaxes a corridor

The real constraint in a waiting area is usually depth rather than width. Depth in this category runs from 33 cm to 130 cm, and the two ends of that range answer two different situations. Nuno builds a wall-hugging line in narrow corridors with 33 cm deep modules; a 90 cm single unit sits alongside a 148 cm long module and a 101 cm version with a backrest, and the series can be customised with modules that integrate tables and power sockets. At the other end, Petta forms a free-standing island in the middle of a lobby at 130 by 130 cm. When choosing a size, count the circulation width left in front of the seated person’s knees.

Why seat height stays between 43 and 46 cm

Seat height in this category clusters in a narrow 43-46 cm band, and that is not a coincidence. Someone waiting will stand up again shortly; a seat that is too low makes standing difficult, and one that is too high leaves feet off the floor. Overall height, by contrast, spans a wide range from 46 cm to 136 cm. At the low end are backless poufs such as Bankey, which forms a low bench at 192 by 50 cm, and Bridge, produced at 180 and 200 cm widths in 50 and 85 cm depths. At the high end Unify reaches 136 cm and builds an acoustic and visual screen, offered as a 76 cm single module and a 136 cm double module.

The leg system decides cleaning and durability

Most shells here are metal-legged; Huggy is built with painted tubular legs over a wooden frame, and Dawn with chrome-plated U-shaped metal legs. Wooden legs give a warmer base in hotel and hospitality settings. A fixed leg is the lowest-maintenance answer for a shell that is sat on dozens of times a day and leaves no caster marks on the floor. On upholstery, fabric dominates, while leather and faux leather are chosen where cleaning matters most. Poufs, side tables and waiting islands
