Leather, mesh and the trade-off in between

Upholstery here is as much a climate decision as a visual one. Leather and faux leather shells answer the representative brief with weight and a closed surface; Starlux is built with a genuine leather upholstered back, Leton with a buttoned, capitonne body, and Lella with channel-stitched black leather, polished aluminium arms and a five-star base. Mesh-backed executive chairs combine the same tall shell with ventilation: Trium and X-Trans use 3D mesh backs, Ligna pairs an ergonomic mesh back with slim aluminium lines, and Liz uses a special mesh with an adjustable mesh headrest. Plenty and Quantum offer the same shell in both mesh and leather back options, so you do not have to change model to move between representation and airflow.

Where the adjustment stops

In this category the real difference usually appears in the number of adjustments. Starlux offers depth adjustment, back tension adjustment, back locking, adjustable lumbar support and adjustable arms. Liz carries a depth-adjustable sliding seat, width-adjustable arms and adjustable lumbar support. Kyle provides depth adjustment, back tension adjustment and back locking. X-Trans adds four-way arm adjustment plus seat depth and front seat angle adjustment. Aria integrates seat and backrest into a single carbon fibre frame and sets back tension automatically. Eddy and Trium complete a full synchronous mechanism with 3D arm adjustment.

Aluminium bases and shell construction

Base material is a visible dividing line here. Polished aluminium star bases are used on Starlux, Quantum, Fold, Rega, Kyle, Trium and Trio, and the metal surface carries the weight of the shell visually as well as physically. Plastic bases are lighter and quieter and appear on Eddy, Liz, Titan and Pivot. On the shell side two construction routes separate: solid bodies made of fire-retardant polyurethane over a steel frame, and open bodies with mesh stretched over a plastic frame. Rega uses a steel construction body, Quantum upholstery over steel construction, and Elegance polyurethane over plywood.

The second and third chair of the same series

An executive room is rarely furnished with a single chair. Several series in this catalogue are offered with executive, task, meeting and guest versions: Elegance is available in executive, staff and guest configurations, Quantum in executive, meeting, waiting and task versions, and Bosso is described as a series suited to executive, task and meeting use. When that is the case, the tall shell behind the desk and the fixed shell in front of it share the same upholstery and the same arm language. If you have to mix series instead, the easiest common ground is arm material and upholstery colour.
