Start from the head count, not the top

Put the legs where the knees are not
On a long top the real constraint is leg position. A twin-leg or block-leg construction, documented on both Brenda and Serenity, carries the top from the two ends and leaves the centre span completely open, so people seated along the sides never meet a leg. Informatic instead uses square prismatic totem columns for a central support built for larger groups. Greko keeps the middle clear with a raised, T-leg body. Denis takes the opposite approach on small tops, pushing tapered legs out to the corners of a polygonal base. Once the head count is fixed, check the underside before you choose the finish.
Power and cable routing are part of the specification
A meeting table carries the heaviest cable traffic in the office. Brenda and Serenity are both documented with a recessed cable channel and a power module.
