What a Rugonic rug is made of

Rugonic rugs are built in layers: a cloth face that carries the whole design, a sponge layer that softens each step, and a solid cotton base underneath. The values below are the same on every rug and every size.

Face130 g/m² cloth. The whole design lives here.

Middle layer4-5 mm sponge. It softens the step.

Base700 g cotton.

Total900 g/m².

ProportionEvery size keeps the 2:3 proportion of the design, so each one carries the whole design with its border.

ToleranceThe size name is the real size, with a production tolerance of ±2%.

Rugonic rugs come in seven sizes, from 40 × 60 cm (1′ 4″ × 2′) to 180 × 270 cm (6′ × 9′). The table shows where each size works best and how it is washed. Each rug page also shows the size you pick in a room, with a scaled drawing.

Everyday use and care

Rugonic rugs are machine washed at 30 °C on a gentle cycle, or hand washed. Hang or lay flat to dry. Muddy paws, crumbs and spills come out in the wash, so they work in homes with pets and children.

The 160 × 240 and 180 × 270 cm sizes do not fit a home machine; use a laundromat machine or spot clean.

You do not need a rug pad. The 700 g cotton base is there, and on very slippery hard floors a pad helps it stay put.
